Tree in a pot. Maybe it’s more of a plant? Nah, don’t think so.
For some reason I really enjoy making pixel art, and I’m not exactly sure why. In a way it’s very soothing. You sit there and you fill your little squares with color, without a care in the world. Perhaps it’s the sensation of contributing to something bigger that makes it so appealing to me. All the little squares come together and form a larger design. What fascinates me though, is that even very low resolution pictures can be varied and created in so many ways. A picture with only a few squares can still express vast ideas, despite it’s limitation in detail. I think that is what gets your imagination into gear. The picture with the tree is not exactly high-res, but even so, you can still see that it’s a tree. You can see the leaves and a branch. You may even perceive it as a certain kind of tree, due to the shape and form. Now I can tell you right now that it is not modeled after any real tree in particular. It’s simply a product of my mind. But my point is that it doesn’t matter. You would probably still imagine something if you were to see a picture with even fewer squares, and that’s pretty cool. :)

Time to get cracking! With exclamation marks nonetheless! I have been absent for a while! But now I’m back! With stuff to post aswell! Pixel art is the name of the game! Painting is nice, but the digital brush is oh so accessible! Why all the exclamation marks!? Let’s just say the picture set the tone for this text! Now let’s go!

WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?

Japan! ^^

The bunny finally ate the carrot, so you can see why he’s a bit tired. That’s the end of the carrot and also my (probably unhealthy) obsession with drawing pixel bunnies. :P
I should definitely find some new motif. I’m not quite sure what yet, but when I figure that out I’ll most certainly post it here.

Yet another painting, but fear not, I did this one quite recently. Well, a couple of weeks ago anyway. I suppose I’m trying out a more artistic approach with this one. To be honest though, I’m not so sure what to make of it. Put simply, it’s a blue man watching over a crime scene. But I don’t know if I like the finished picture or not. What I’m trying to say is that I can’t make up my mind over whether I did a decent job of painting it or not. What is certain though, is that this picture has a different kind of depth and meaning than the previous ones. At least to me, but maybe that’s just because I’m the one who painted it.

Another painting that I did in 09. This one actually started out as a bonsai tree and not a tree on a hill. Well, as an idea for a bonsai tree anyway. It didn’t go that well. In fact, I believe that I failed miserably. So I started experimenting instead, and this was the result. The only thing I did, really, was to mix colors and paint different layers, without completely covering up the layers underneath. I can’t say that I’m a very skilled painter, but I do enjoy it and I think it turned out OK in the end.

I did this one in 09. Apparently. Didn’t scan it until today though, so… I don’t know what to say about it. It’s a pretty well known mushroom so I doubt it needs a description. Oh, the colors aren’t the original ones, but I thought it looked nicer this way.
I’m very tired, I should really go to bed…
